there is a scene where savage red (the leader of the chorus) weeps openly and bitterly because JL and Arthur just can't get it together enough to befriend him. he even made them a pot of beans to show his love but they didn't like the beans. they just sort of shrugged and rolled their heads and hummed to themselves and so did savage red begin to weep.
